The National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking “Aman” campaign

In affirmation of its steadfast commitment to protect human rights and safeguard human dignity, the Sultanate of Oman has launched a national campaign titled “Aman”, (“Safety” in English). The launch was also held to mark the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, which falls on 30 July each year.
The launch ceremony was held under the auspices of Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs and Chair of the NCCHT.
The campaign continued for three months. August focused on introducing key concepts, definitions and forms of human trafficking crimes, while raising public awareness. September centred on explaining reporting mechanisms and methods and promoting a culture of safe reporting. The campaign concluded in its final month with a focus on victim protection and the services provided to them. This reflected an integrated approach that brings together prevention, reporting and protection.
